Welcome back to Feasting on Design! I’m your host Jason Frostholm. I know it’s been a whole since we’ve been on air, but I’ve had a good reason. After almost 8 years as Creative Director for an engineering firm here in Mobile, Alabama, I decided to step down to work with my wife Tina on building our own design business, called Ildis. We’re looking to work with more restaurants, and food & beverage clients to help with their branding, design, and creative strategy. If you want to learn a bit more about the name and what we do head over to ildisdesign.com.
Today on Feasting on Design, I’m talking with Matt Dawson, founder of Crop, a conference for designers and creatives. We chat about how’s he’s adjusting to the creative community in Austin after moving from Atlanta earlier this year, building Crop and how they are quite literally weathering the storm after a hurricane destroyed their plans for Crop cruise to celebrate the conference’s 5th anniversary, how they were able to rework the event to be held in Austin, during April 2022, making up work to keep learning and as a way to get work, the downside of chasing likes on social media, plus a whole lot more.
If you want to find out more about Crop’s 5th Anniversary head over to cropcons.com. You can view the speaker line up, learn about he workshops, and not forget to get your tickets. Go visit cropcons.com today, and hopefully we’ll see you in Austin in April.
